Ben Salter of MMGN: For all my negatively and this is a very lazy game I could have copy and pasted my very positive Black Flag review, replaced Kenway with Cormac and altered the setting, and Id have done almost exactly what Ubisoft Sofia has. From an objective standpoint, there's nothing particularly wrong with it, but only if you havent played Unity, which enhances everything more than it has been given credit for by the masses, and are willing to play through exactly, and I mean exactly, the same thing as last year. That means it's only for the most hardcore of Assassins Creed fans, or those weirdos without a current-gen console or PC who ideally havent played Black Flag but in that case, they might as well just play Black Flag.

Far Cry 4 suffers from the same problem as virtually every other open-world game (from Grand Theft Auto V to Assassins Creed LXVII): when theres an endless supply of distractions, a games core storyline cant help but be nudged into the background. This is made even more jarring by Pagan Mins disappearance after a jaw-dropping prologue sequence you can literally go dozens of hours before encountering him again, other than his occasional (and weirdly breezy, considering youve joined the rebel group bent on toppling him) dispatches via radio.
